About Us
SkyShield Intelligence originated as a course project at the Center for Homeland Defense and Security located at the Naval Postgraduate School. The founders were challenged by Dr. Rodrigo Nieto-Gomez and Dr. Nick Dew to fill a current gap in UAV/Counter-UAV capabilities as part of a collaboration with the Domestic Preparedness Support Initiative (DPSI).
Leveraging their diverse experiences is the United States Coast Guard, the fire service, law enforcement, emergency medical services, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the founders realized that removing silos and centralizing drone-related reporting would better equip the Department of Defense, the Homeland Security Enterprise, the U.S. intelligence community, and law enforcement in combatting adversarial UAV usage.
